Sen. Moreno asks new attorney general to reexamine Cleveland’s consent decree
WEWS: Jonathan Entin, the David L. Brennan Professor Emeritus of Law, noted that U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno’s challenge to Cleveland’s consent decree hinges on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) met procedural requirements. If not, the U.S. Attorney General’s office could seek to dismiss it. However, Entin cautioned that the DOJ likely knew these requirements, though procedural oversights can sometimes occur.
