Law’s Jonathan Entin comments on Cleveland City Council proposal to double its campaign contribution limits

Cleveland City Council prepares to double its own campaign contribution limits

cleveland.com (subscription required): Jonathan Entin, the David L. Brennan Professor Emeritus of Law, discussed a Cleveland City Council proposal that would double the campaign contribution cap for council races, noting that the higher caps are more likely to benefit incumbents than challengers. “It’s possible that this is designed to make it easier for (incumbents) to raise more money from people, which might, in turn, scare off potential competitors,” he said.
