Christian Science Monitor: Jonathan Adler, the Johan Verheij Memorial Professor of Law, said an upcoming Supreme Court case might overturn the so-called Chevron doctrine, holding that federal courts must defer to an agency’s interpretation of ambiguous statutes if it’s based on “a permissible construction” of the statute. “Together (three upcoming cases) all put the court in the position of making clear how far it really wants to go in terms of curtailing the administrative state,” Adler said.
