Law’s Jessup International Law Moot Court Team progresses to international rounds of competition

The School of Law’s Jessup International Law Moot Court Team recently celebrated a victory at regionals in Chicago for the seventh time in 10 years.

Team members Tyler Kimberly, Betsy Krupar, Noah Goldberg, Stephen Perrott, and Eric Connon, and their coach, Conor McLauglin, an alum and associate at Thompson Hine LLP, will travel to Washington, D.C., April 5–12 to compete in the international rounds of the competition.

After defeating teams from Notre Dame, DePaul, Northern Illinois and Northwestern in the preliminary rounds, the team earned the high seed for the elimination rounds. They went on to beat Marquette in the quarterfinals, and Ohio Northern in the semifinals, then lost a close round to Wayne State in the finals (both finals teams progress to the International Rounds).

The team also won the Second Best Brief Award and Steven Perrott won the award for best overall oralist in the competition.
