Fred Gray, iconic civil rights attorney and CWRU alum, receives Presidential Medal of Freedom
WEWS: Jessica Berg, co-dean of the School of Law, discussed her nomination of Fred Gray (LAW ‘54) for the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his role in shaping the modern civil rights movement. “We cannot think of an individual more fitting to receive the country’s highest civilian honor,” she said. “We respectfully submit that his life’s work demonstrates that he is a leading defender of human rights and freedom.”
