Law student Kristen Connors wins esteemed fellowship for labor law

Kristen Connors, a first-year law student, has been awarded the prestigious Peggy Browning Fellowship, established for law students in labor law and workers’ rights.

About the fellowship

The fellowship supports first- and second-year law students as they complete the Summer Fellowship Program, a 10-week fellowship at labor-related organizations around the country dedicated to advancing the cause of workers’ rights. The fellowship collaborates with more than 150 participating law schools and selected mentor organizations nationwide, including labor leaders, labor attorneys and labor law professors.

Summer Fellowship stipends will be a minimum of $6,000 per student for the 10-week employment period.

Since 1997, the program has placed more than 850 law students in highly competitive positions, advocating for thousands of workers and their families nationwide. At least 68.8% of fellowship alumni are currently working in workers’ rights labor law or public interest law.
