Law-Medicine’s Sharona Hoffman discusses vaccine mandates in the face of omicron

Retail Dive: Sharona Hoffman, the Edgar A. Hahn Professor of Law and co-director of the Law-Medicine Center, noted that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is tasked with making the workplace safe. “If someone has COVID-19, it is not going to be safe, so this is a workplace issue,” Hoffman said, noting that while hearing loss is not “specific to the workplace” either, OSHA nevertheless sets legal limits on noise exposure at work. “They are saying, ‘If we have people who are unvaccinated or who have COVID in the workplace, the workplace is unsafe.'”
