ProPublica: As the Supreme Court prepares to rule on the Affordable Care Act, some experts worry what will happen to the patient safety and quality of care provisions that are part of it. Law and bioethics professor Sharona Hoffman said leaving uninsured Americans behind makes hospitals less safe. “Emergency rooms are really stretched because they provide the only source of care for millions of uninsured, which affects the quality of care for everyone.”
