This spring, Makeblock donated xTool equipment and materials to Sears think[box]. Makeblock, a company dedicated to STEAM education, offers a wide range of related products and resources, including Makeblock robot kits, educational bundles, and project ideas.
The company’s donation will allow Sears think[box] to enhance its ability to showcase new ways of approaching project ideas to the community, while elevating outreach programs and ideas.
Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to an event during which Sears think[box] will debut the xTool M1 10w desktop laser cutter Saturday, April 20, from noon to 3 p.m. in the second-floor presentation area.
The event will feature a demo of an animated cardboard Yoshi cutouts. Yoshi is a character from the Super Mario franchise and Mario’s trusty dinosaur steed.
The cutouts have movable joints that connect together with Stawbees, a unique set of shapes that join together with straws to make simple or complex mechanisms.
After assembling Yoshi, visitors will be able to make its mouth move up and down by moving its tail.
