The Case Western Reserve University Police Department has put together a new active shooter response program. The A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) Program takes a real look into an active shooter situation and teaches students, staff and faculty what tactical advantages they have that could keep them alive if a situation might occur. The program is divided into five steps and every step is important.
The five steps are: Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate. Each of these steps will be explained in the training.
The program is designed to teach survival strategies that will save lives in the event of an active shooter situation.
Two upcoming training sessions will be held: March 1 and Thursday, March 15, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom.
Registration is not required for these sessions.
