Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join Kelvin Smith Library to celebrate the Kulas Music Collection moving to its new location within the library. The Kulas Music Collection Open House will be held Friday, Sept. 27, at noon. The event will feature an opening reception, talk and musical performance, as well as an art gallery exhibit that will uncover the history of sheet music publishing and American culture from the Tin Pan Alley era (1895 through the mid-20th century).
Daniel Goldmark, associate dean and head of popular music studies, will provide context and music excerpts to immerse audiences in a world that seems at once anachronistic, yet incredibly familiar today.
