Did You Know: International Students

Each November, Case Western Reserve University and institutions around the country celebrate International Education Week in recognition of international education and global exchange. This year, events will be held on campus Nov. 12-16 for International Education Week. Throughout November, we will highlight statistics related to internationalization at Case Western Reserve to mark the celebration.

International students play an integral role in shaping Case Western Reserve University. The university’s 2,200 international students comprise nearly 20 percent of the total student body.

Representing 91 total countries, the top places of origin for international students at Case Western Reserve are:

  1. China
  2. India
  3. Saudi Arabia
  4. South Korea
  5. Vietnam
  6. Canada
  7. Taiwan
  8. Iran
  9. Turkey and United Arab Emirates (tied)

Graduate students make up the majority of international students, with more than 1,450, while there are more than 700 undergraduates.

International students study a wide range of topics, with the highest percentages pursuing:

  1. Engineering and engineering technologies;
  2. Business, management and marketing; and
  3. Mathematics and statistics.
