Michael Posner, former assistant secretary of state for democracy, human rights and labor under President Barack Obama, will deliver the Klatsky Endowed Lecture in Human Rights Thursday, March 9, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the School of Law’s Moot Courtroom.
His lecture is titled “Making Practical Progress on Human Rights: An Essential Element of Sustainable Business.” Posner, also the founding executive director of Human Rights First, will address the growing tension between human rights and globalization.
Prior to his lecture, Posner will receive the Cox International Law Center Humanitarian Award for Advancing Global Justice.
A reception, including snacks and refreshments, will follow.
