Normally on the first Thursday of every month, students gather at Kelvin Smith Library in the Freedman Collaboration Commons for a few hours of fun and relaxation to play board games and take a well-deserved break from studying.
The library has hosted these monthly game nights for the past two years with great success, but the world looks very different than it did just a few months ago. In an effort to stay connected, the Kelvin Smith Game Night will move online.
Though there are many different websites that facilitate online play, the Gaming Committee at Kelvin Smith Library chose Board Game Arena as the new stage for these monthly “funtivities.” Those interested can join on CampusGroups page to see what games will be featured each month. To get started, create a free account for Board Game Arena. There also will be polls via CampusGroups to vote on what game you want featured for the next month’s game night.
All are welcome at game night, whether this will be your first time playing a game or you are an experienced player. Don’t know how to play the game? Links to the rulebooks and how-to videos will be provided so that you will be ready to go.
The first game night is today (Sept. 3) from 7 to 9 p.m.
