Jon Foisotte, a junior Japanese and international studies major, took the second place prize in the University Division of the 16th annual Japan America Society of Central Ohio Japanese Speech Contest.
At the contest, which was held March 7 at the Dublin (Ohio) Recreation Center, Foisotte conveyed his idea that “what is special about Japan is the tenderness of the language’s expressive power and the connection it has to Japanese culture” through his speech, titled “What is Japan?”
