Join the Cleveland Archaeological Society for its annual fundraiser May 9

All are invited to the Cleveland Archaeological Society’s Annual Fundraiser on Thursday, May 9, at 6:00 pm in the Cleveland Museum of Natural History at 1 Wade Oval Drive, Cleveland, OH, 44106. Join us as we welcome noted Mayanist Dr. Simon Martin for an evening of Maya archaeology and delicious Mexican food. Dr. Martin will deliver a lecture entitled: “The Maya Mosaic: Solving the Puzzle of Ancient Maya Politics.” All proceeds from the event will go towards funding The Summer Internship in Archaeology, which allows a college student from Ohio to get real archaeological experience! To purchase tickets for the fundraiser, download the attached flier or visit our website at https://classics.case.edu/cleveland-archaeological-society/lectures/. Discounted tickets are available for college students!

Dr. Simon Martin is Associate Curator and Keeper of the American Section at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology. You may recognize his name from publications in National Geographic, Scientific American, and Archaeology magazine, or from his televised appearances on NOVA, Discovery, and the History Channel. We are delighted to welcome him to Cleveland for our fundraiser!
