ITS server upgrade July 20 may affect several campus services

Information Technology Services (ITS) will conduct a server upgrade Saturday, July 20 from 1 to 5:30 a.m., and it may affect access to some services.

ITS will upgrade and patch the Linux Database Server LDB-KSL-3 from 1 to 4:30 a.m. Following the upgrade, server administrators will verify that all services and applications that rely on LDB-KSL-3 are working properly, with testing expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m.

LDB-KSL-3 is tied to a wide range of campus services, including the Sympa Mailing List Manager and the Software Center. During the upgrade, users temporarily may be unable to access these and other online resources. Once complete, this work will provide more stability to the server and the services that rely upon it.
