Case Western Reserve University School of Law’s Center for Business Law and Regulation will host “Is the Trump Administration Deconstructing the Administrative State?” Thursday, March 28, at 4:30 p.m. in the law school’s Moot Court Room (A59).
The Trump Administration entered office with a broad deregulatory agenda. Through executive orders, legislation and appointments, it has sought to roll back Obama Administration regulatory initiatives and put in place policies that will reduce the federal regulatory burden.
Susan Dudley, director of the George Washington University Regulatory Studies Center and former “regulatory czar” for President George W. Bush, will assess the effects of these efforts after the first two years, consider whether the Trump Administration has been successful in deregulating aspects of the economy and whether such policies are likely to continue.
She also will identify the effects of the current administration’s policies on federal regulation and the regulatory burdens faced by private firms.
Dudley’s talk is approved for one CLE credit.
The event is free and open to the public, but attendees can register on the law school’s website. Refreshments will follow the event.
