“Introduction to Your Management Style”

The Professional Development Center will offer part one of the Management Development Series, “Introduction to Your Management Style,” Thursday, Jan. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The session will use the DiSC assessment. Based on the work of behavioral psychologist William Moulton Marston, DiSC is an empirical and respected tool to help individuals understand the four types of behavioral styles that people display. By understanding one’s own style and those of others, individuals can more effectively communicate and relate to others, and reduce unproductive conflict.

Participants will complete an online self-assessment and receive a detailed (25+ page) report with the findings and suggestions the day of the session.

Those who participate in the session will:

  • Identify their preferred behavioral style, along with potential strengths and challenges; and
  • Identify all the various behavioral styles and understand how to adapt their behavior accordingly.

The Management Development Series is open to all staff and faculty in supervisory roles and those who aspire to hold management positions in the future.

Registration is available online.
