InterVarsity, Koinonia aim to raise awareness of human trafficking through various events

social justice week CWRUInterVarsity Christian Fellowship – Undergraduate Chapter (IVU) and Koinonia InterVarsity (KIV) will present a Social Justice Week Feb. 25 to March 1, focusing on raising awareness about human trafficking. Throughout the week, students, staff and faculty can engage in conversation and learn more about this issue, which affects societies today, regardless of location and class. The following events will be presented:

Monday, Feb. 25
6:30 – 7:45 p.m., Amasa Stone Chapel
Come build special kits or make donations to benefit the Renee Jones Empowerment Center Project Red Cord outreach. Voices of Glory will host the event.

Tuesday, Feb. 26
6:30 – 8 p.m., Thwing Center 1914 Lounge
Panelists from the Imagine Foundation, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, and the Collaborative Initiative to End Human Trafficking will delve into the definition of human trafficking and their role in the fight against it.

Wednesday, Feb. 27
7 – 9 p.m., Strosacker Auditorium
There will be a screening of the award-winning documentary, Nefarious: Merchant of Souls, which will give a perspective on human trafficking around the world.

Thursday, February 28
7 – 9 p.m. , Village House 4
Another chance to build kits or make donations for the Renee Jones Empowerment Center Project Red Cord outreach.

Friday, March 1
6 – 8 p.m., The Spot
The Without Words Movement will perform a dance production that portrays the horrors of human trafficking, followed a talk by Connie Anderson, director of Justice Missions.
