Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join the Office of International Student Resources and Engagement for International Education Week events Nov. 18–22. IEW is a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education designed to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences.
“A World of Coffee at CWRU”
Monday, Nov. 18
This event will feature international coffee-tasting stations across CWRU dining halls! Sample coffees from Guatemala, Brazil, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Mexico, Peru, Sumatra and Colombia. Faculty and staff members are welcome to purchase these international flavors at the Biomedical Research Building Cafe, the Cafe on the Quad, Elephant Step Inn, and the HEC Kitchen. Solstice Roasters also will have a free tasting station in the Tinkham Veale University Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.Their coffee beans can be purchased at Med23 and discount coupons will be provided on future purchases. No registration is required.

Thinking about studying abroad and are unsure if an entire semester or summer is right for you? Eager to spend time abroad learning about one subject intensively with CWRU faculty and peers? Faculty-led, short-term study abroad programs are tied to fall, spring or summer terms and travel abroad during designated break times (winter break, spring break and summer break). Courses are offered all over the world, and from every school and college at CWRU. Hear what your options are for this and next year at this information session and learn how to start your journey abroad. This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students.

Culture Talk

Held in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, this event will give international students from Spain, Nigeria, Brazil and India an opportunity to share insights on cultural aspects, education systems, gender roles, and more. Each group will present, followed by a Q&A session. This event is open to students, staff and faculty. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch.

“Being You Abroad”

Interested or already planning to study abroad as a first-generation, LGBTQ+ and/or multicultural student? “Being You Abroad” is an information session that will give attendees the opportunity to hear firsthand from study abroad alumni on how their identities impacted their study abroad experiences around the globe.
This event is open to undergraduate and graduate students for all study abroad programs, and will be hosted alongside the LGBT Center and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
