To celebrate Case Western Reserve’s culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the university will host the second annual Innovation Week Sept. 26–29.
This year’s Innovation Week will kick off with a keynote presentation by MIT Professor Vladimir Bulović on Tuesday, Sept. 26, that addresses the week’s theme, “Innovation as Problem Solving.”
All interested faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend Innovation Week. Free lunch will be provided at all lunchtime events!
During Innovation Week, attendees will have opportunities to:

- Understand how innovation occurs in our Northeast Ohio ecosystem among players with varying interests;
- Hear from industry representatives about what good corporate engagement looks like and how we can enhance and improve the current corporate engagement model;
- Celebrate CWRU’s leading innovators and this year’s recipient of the Faculty Distinguished Research Award;
- Network with colleagues, CWRU alumni, community investors and members of the National Academy of Inventors;
- Tour Interactive Commons; and
- Participate in workshops hosted by xLab, Sears think[box] and more.
Events will include four daily lunch sessions at the Tinkham Veale University Center from noon to 2 p.m. (each event includes networking time), daily workshops, and Innovation Awards to honor our top faculty innovators.
Finally, all students and postdocs are encouraged to enter the Pitch-Your-Poster Contest on Friday, Sept. 29, for a chance to win one of up to 10 $1,000 awards!
