Incentive for faculty and staff to complete online compliance training

Since the launch of the second module of online compliance training at Case Western Reserve, around one-quarter of employees have started the training.

With the approach of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Compliance Office encourages faculty and staff to take advantage of the “down time” associated with travel to complete the module. Completing the training should take between 35 and 45 minutes, and can be done all at once or in separate, briefer sessions.

Employees have an additional incentive to complete the training: Those who complete the module by the end of 2016 will be entered to win a $50 gift card to the CWRU Barnes and Noble bookstore.

Over the past two months, approximately 5,000 staff and faculty have received emails directing them to the new educational module housed on Blackboard.

In addition to being more concise and customized than the inaugural module, the training includes updated information regarding: diversity, financial transparency, and honesty and integrity. The lessons provide overviews of the university’s policies and practices regarding these subjects, and also offer guidance regarding where to find resources when needed.

The training is accessible via the Internet using a number of devices, including most phones, tablets and laptops.

Moving forward, the office will issue updated iterations of the training that will be repeated each fiscal year for all staff and faculty.
