Inamori Center to hold event on leaving religious communes

The Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence will present “Surviving Utopia: Growing Up In and Leaving a Religious Commune” Friday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m. at the Inamori Center, located in Tinkham Veale University Center, Suite 280.

Speaker Tracy Lockwood will share her experiences and the challenges of leaving a high-demand religious group. She will explain how one can help teens and young adults leaving similar situations and discuss the importance of personal freedom and choice.

Fynn McPherson (CWR ’14) will follow Lockwood’s talk with a question-and-answer session about his own experiences in a similar situation.

Lunch will be provided at this event, which is free and open to the public.
