Impact Talk: “Sticks and Stones Might Break My Bones – How Words Can Be Used to Empower or Marginalize”

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences invites all members of the campus community to the first of several Impact Talks with Adrianne M. Fletcher, assistant dean of diversity and inclusion and assistant professor.

The event, titled “Sticks and Stones Might Break My Bones—How Words Can Be Used to Empower or Marginalize,” will take place Wednesday, March 23, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. EDT. All are invited to join in person at Noble Commons (Mandel School Lobby) to learn how careers in social work are making a difference in society.

Door prizes will be raffled off to those in attendance, both in person and online. Six students (three in person and one online) will have an opportunity to win one of the following prizes at each Impact Talk:

  • Two 10-inch Android tablets 
  • Four Bluetooth wireless earbuds
