The Ideas for Tomorrow series continues Thursday, Dec. 15, with a talk featuring Angela Duckworth, author of The New York Times bestseller Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance.
Duckworth also is a professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and founder and scientific director of Character Lab, a nonprofit that aims to advance the science and practice of character development.
She studies grit and self-control, which are two factors independent of IQ that determine success and well being.
Her talk will be held at 5 p.m. at the Bank of America Conference Center at InterContinental Hotel (9801 Carnegie Ave.).
Cleveland Clinic sponsors the Ideas for Tomorrow series, and Case Western Reserve University is a partner for the event.
