Host families needed for international students coming from Japan

ELS Cleveland, the Intensive English program on the CWRU campus, is looking for Host Families for a new group of international students coming from Japan starting in August of 2021.

Host Families are a vital part of the study abroad experience, and what makes studying at ELS Cleveland so special! Host Families provide international students the opportunity to see what living in the United States is like, the culture and customs of that Host Family, and a great deal of English practice! It’s a great opportunity for Host Families to step into the shoes of an international student visiting Cleveland, and many enjoy the activities and tourist attractions of the city as if they were a tourist themselves. Many Host Families forge deep friendships with their students and memories that will last a lifetime!

Host Families can take up to three ELS students at a time and receive a stipend of $675 for each student, each month. Host Families can take students on a monthly basis (for just one month, or up to the entire duration of the student’s enrollment at ELS). For more information and to find out how you can experience the joys of intercultural exchange, call the ELS center at 216-368-2716, or email the Center Director, Leanna Ross, at LROSS@ELS.EDU.
