History’s David Hammack receives leadership award for work on nonprofits, voluntary action

David Hammack, the Hiram C. Haydn Professor of History, recently was awarded the Distinguished Achievement and Leadership Award of the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA).

Hammack has written extensively on the history of America’s civil society and nonprofit sector and on the history of cities, the built environment and education.

ARNOVA is the leading scholarly association in its field. It has more than 1,000 members from many countries, and its journal, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, is one of the most prominent journal in the field.
