The ConversationJue Liang, assistant professor and the Severance Professor in the History of Religion at the College of Arts and Sciences, discussed her new course “Ghosts, Zombies, and Monsters: What We Fear and Loathe in Religions,” which explores how fearsome beings reflect cultural anxieties, moral boundaries and self-perception. Through themes of ghosts, zombies and monsters, students examine death, otherness and societal fears via films, stories and discussions, fostering empathy and understanding of differences.
