History-making doctor, renowned author to visit campus for April 10 lecture

Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Case Medical Center will sponsor a public lecture by Augustus A. White, the author of Seeing Patients: Unconscious Bias in Health Care.

White is a professor of medical education and orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School. He was the first African American graduate of Stanford University’s medical school and later became the first African American department chief at Harvard’s teaching hospitals.

White’s lecture will be held April 10 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein Research Building Auditorium. A reception and book signing will follow the talk.

The event is free and open to the public.
