The Case Western Reserve University Common Reading Committee will begin its review of book nominations for Fall 2016-2017 soon.
The Common Reading Committee looks for works that:
- Appeal to young adults;
- Address issues relevant to new college students;
- Prompt inquiry, reflection and discourse; and
- Differ from usual high school reading assignments.
The common reading selection is a valuable part of the programming provided by the Office of First Year Experience and Family Programs and an essential piece of the transition first-year students have during their first year on campus.
The university community is invited to nominate a work for the selection process by completing the short online nomination form by Oct. 15.
