Young Adults at the Church of the Covenant have been creating a Labyrinth on canvas which can be used for meditation throughout the year.

Labyrinths are an ancient human symbol going back 3500 years which were present in North and South America, Africa, Asia and Across Europe. The Labyrinth Symbol was incorporated into floors of great Gothic pilgrimage Cathedrals such as Notre Dame in Paris.  So why walk a Labyrinth now? Walking meditation reduces anxiety, stress and follows a winding path from the edge to the center. There is no right or wrong way to walk and the same path is used from the outside to the inside.  Circles and spirals are intertwined. Walking a labyrinth stimulates creativity and imagination in the brain and enhances contemplative thought.  Students from several campus groups are creating a labyrinth at the Church of the Covenant each Saturday at 9:30

We are painting on canvas so that the Labyrinth can be transported and used for meditative practices in different communities. Please join us in creating the Labyrinth.
