Hear from renowned biologist and infectious disease expert at May 5 town hall meeting

The School of Medicine will host an exclusive town hall meeting and discussion with students on the future of global health and vaccination Thursday, May 5, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in Biomedical Research Building, Room 1100.

The meeting will feature renowned biologist and infectious disease expert Adel Mahmoud. Mahmoud currently leads research at The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and The Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University. Mahmoud recently retired as president of Merck Vaccines and as a member of Merck & Company, Inc.’s management committee.

His prior academic services at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals of Cleveland spanned 25 years, concluding as chairman of medicine and physician-in-chief from 1987 to 1998. Currently, Mahmoud chairs the Dean’s Visiting Committee at the School of Medicine.
