The Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (PRCHN) Seminar Series continues Wednesday, May 8, with a talk by Heidi Gullett, assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
Her talk, “Bridges Out of Poverty: A novel framework to promote social change and improve health outcomes,” will take place from noon to 1 p.m., on the ground floor of the BioEnterprise Building. During the talk, she will discuss The Bridges Out of Poverty and Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World works that have aided in practical understanding of poverty in many educational and social service settings. She will highlight successful venues where this framework has been used to advocate for vulnerable populations and then focus on a proposal for using these frameworks in community-based research aimed at improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations in the Cleveland area.
