The Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program will host a discussion on security issues in Israel Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Siegal facility in Beachwood.
Sarit Zehavi, founder and director of an organization that gives briefings on security issues in the northern region of Israel, will present “ISIS vs. Hezbollah: The ultimate security challenge for Israel” at the event.
She will discuss the rise of radical Muslim movements, 100 years of identity crisis in the Middle East and the history of colonial borders and their current dismantlement. The military deployment of Hezbollah, its power base in the Lebanese area and the new security challenge from Syria will be addressed.
The event is free, but preferred seating costs $18. Registration is available online.
