Case Western Reserve University community undergraduate students are invited to a special event focused on the art of engaging in challenging discussions Monday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 8:0 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, Ballroom A. The event features a panel discussion from experts in an informal “coffee shop” setting.
During this conversation, panelists will discuss how to respectfully disagree with those we most care about on political and social issues, including how to respond when one may agree on the issue but not the means.
This event is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and hosted by Provost and Executive Vice President Joy K. Ward. This event is held in partnership with the CWRU Residence Hall Association (RHA).
This event is specifically tailored for students. Food and drinks will be provided.
The panelists will be:
- Norah Feeny, professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences and director of the PTSD Treatment and Research Program at the College of Arts and Sciences;
- Adrianne Fletcher, vice dean of diversity, equity and inclusive excellence in the Office of the Dean at the School of Medicine and assistant professor at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences;
