Green Bag Lunch Series: “The Circular Economy Beneath Your Feet”

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join the Office of Energy & Sustainability for a Green Bag Lunch Series event titled “The Circular Economy Beneath Your Feet” Wednesday, Sept. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, Senior Classroom.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Interface, one of the country’s top sustainability-based businesses and a flooring supplier at the university. The company has shifted its business model to directly address the triple bottom line. Those at the event will hear more about how they are still innovating.

Wendell Hadden, vice president of education for Interface, will speak about the scale of inter-generational waste, embodied carbon vs. operational carbon, the development of a carbon-neutral supply chain and responsible ownership/management of the largest plastic commodity on campus.

The Office of Energy & Sustainability will provide desserts and coffee. Participants are encouraged to eat their lunch during the event.

RSVP on Eventbrite.

Those who plan to bring more than five people to the event should contact the office at sustainability@case.edu.
