Graduate Student Council offers funding to support professional development activities

The Graduate Student Council (GSC) will offer its Professional Development Fund again for the spring 2021 semester. Each year, the Graduate Student Council allocates money toward a professional development fund accessible to CWRU graduate students. Students have the opportunity to receive up to $300 in reimbursements. In the past, the fund has typically been awarded to subsidize conference fees, travel and lodging to conferences and interviews for internships, jobs, and residencies. However, in light of the United States’ current COVID-19 situation, GSC is refraining from using the fund for travel-related expenses for the spring 2021 semester. Instead, GSC will focus on funding virtual conference fees, virtual workshop fees, application fees, and other forms of online professional development.

The application will open today (Feb. 1) at 6 p.m. and close at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15. For spring 2021 funding, students may apply for reimbursement for any experience occurring between Nov. 21, 2020, and May 7, 2021.

The application will be hosted exclusively on CampusGroups, and will be linked on GSC’s website under the “Forms” tab. Further details on the full process will be listed in the application.
