Google experienced service disruption Sunday

Google experienced a major service disruption over several hours starting in mid-afternoon on Sunday, June 2.

The G Suite Status Dashboard reported issues with the following services: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Groups, Hangouts, Hangouts Chat, Hangouts Meet, Vault, Forms, Keep, Tasks, Voice, Admin Console, Google Sync for Mobile and Google Realtime API. The outage also affected some third-party apps like YouTube, Discord and Snapchat.

As of 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening, the outage was resolved. Google stated that the potential cause was “high levels of network congestion in the eastern U.S.A.” The University Technology ([U]Tech) Service Desk assisted those CWRU users who reported G Suite issues.
