This fall, the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Center will host “Autumn in the Country” classes at the University Farm to take advantage of the environment for inspiration.

Owned by Case Western Reserve University, the University Farm, composed of Squire Valleevue and Valley Ridge Farms, is a 389-acre property in Hunting Valley that features forests, ravines, waterfalls, meadows, ponds and a self-contained watershed. The farm provides a backdrop for learning about nature, cultivation and the environment.

The classes include:

  • Proper Horticulture Practices,
  • Blueberry University,
  • The ABC’s of Honey Bees,
  • Fibers at the Farm: Batik on Silk and Silk Painting,
  • Walking through Nature,
  • Painting in the Outdoors and
  • Writing Creative Nonfiction.
