Get additional training on using Canvas and retrieving Blackboard content

Teaching and Learning Technologies is expanding its training calendar to help Case Western Reserve University community members advance their Canvas skills and retrieve necessary Blackboard content, and to provide consultation on all Canvas needs.

Canvas consultations

One-on-one Canvas consultations will continue through the spring semester as a chance for faculty and staff to reserve time with a Teaching and Learning Technologies team member to address specific concerns.

These sessions can be scheduled online.

Blackboard Blitz

Blackboard will be decommissioned June 1, after which individuals will no longer be able to access content in the system. There are many tools that make copying content into Canvas easy, but these tools do not copy student data.

Blackboard Blitz training is designed to help faculty move student data out of Blackboard. The Canvas team will help individuals locate and download data from their Blackboard courses and save it on their computer for future use. Drop-in training sessions are 30 minutes and will be offered twice a week at various campus locations.

Upcoming Blackboard Blitz training drop-in dates are:

  • Friday, March 30, from 1 to 1:30 p.m. in Clark Hall, Room 103;
  • Monday, April 2, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. in Kent Hale Smith Building, Room 119;
  • Wednesday, April 4, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. in Mather House, Room 107; and
  • Thursday, April 12, from 1:30 to 2 p.m. in Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Room 130.

No sign-up is required for drop-in sessions.
