Get active in October with the Walktober fitness campaign

With autumn’s cool temperature just around the corner, faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of the weather and views in the Walktober fitness campaign. The program is offered through the Wellness Program.

In this 31-day step challenge, participants will go on a virtual color tour through some of the world’s most vibrant landscapes and events, all while boosting energy, improving mood and making walking a priority.

Individuals can log their activity using a tracking device or by manually entering exercise with the Step Converter tool.

Faculty and staff also will receive a daily quiz question, walking facts, recipes, articles, daily emails to motivate, and more. There also will be an interactive message board.

Prizes will be offered to 30 participants who successfully complete the program. And all are encouraged, but not required, to join a team for further motivation.

Registration for Walktober begins today (Sept. 16) and step logging starts on Oct. 1.
