George Floyd Teach-In, Part 3

The final installment of the George Floyd Teach-In Series will be held Thursday, June 18, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. This third part of the series will compare the COVID-19 stay-home protests with the Black Lives Matter protests and discuss the intersection of the rights to free speech and to bear arms under the First and Second Amendments. The teach-in also will examine limits on the use of tear gas and rubber bullets, the militarization of police and carrying firearms while protesting.

The event will feature three CWRU School of Law faculty members:

  • Bryan Adamson, the David L. Brennan Professor of Law and associate dean of diversity and inclusion at the law school;
  • Jonathan Adler, the Johan Verheij Memorial Professor of Law; and
  • Jessie Hill, the Judge Ben C. Green Professor of Law.

Hill will moderate the discussion, which will be broadcast live from the Seattle University School of Law YouTube page.
