Geology’s Ralph Harvey weighs in on rare meteorite finding

Ohio farmer reaped rare meteorite, expert says

The Columbus Dispatch: Years ago in his cornfield, a Crawford County farmer found a 59-pound hunk of what some experts believe is a pallasite meteorite. He took it to the Richland Astronomical Society’s monthly meeting two weeks ago and it’s being analyzed; just a few dozen pallasites have been discovered on earth. Ralph Harvey, associate professor of geological sciences, has only seen a picture of it. “It might be, might not, might not even be a meteorite,” he said.
