University Hospitals Case Medical Center, as part of the Connor Integrative Medicine Network, is offering weekly sessions in August on gentle hatha yoga classes, which are chair-supported for guided relaxation and stress management practices.
The classes are Aug. 14, 21 and 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the Bolwell B Conference Room.
This style of yoga focuses on integrating breath with each movement and remaining present in the moment. The pace is leisurely, with time allotted for questions during the class. While most of the movements will be chair-based, the class will also include some standing and simple balancing postures. Each class will include a guided relaxation practice at the end.
Participants can bring a yoga mat or large towel if they prefer to lie down for guided relaxation. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
Each class is $15. Call 216.767.8435 to register.
Instructor Dawn Miller is a yoga therapist and registered yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition. She works with clients in therapeutic yoga sessions at Connor Integrative Medicine Network at University Hospitals and teaches group classes for workplace wellness programs.
