“Game-Changing Women in Business”—Dee Haslam, CEO of Haslam Sports Group, and Whitney Haslam Johnson, chief experience officer for Pilot Flying J

Join the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship for a Case Western Reserve University Entrepreneurship Speaker Series roundtable discussion with Dee Haslam, CEO of Haslam Sports Group and managing partner of the Cleveland Browns, and Whitney Haslam Johnson, chief experience officer for Pilot Flying J, May 19 at 4:30 p.m. ET via Zoom.

They will discuss being women in business based on their vast experience running the Haslam Sports Group, the Cleveland Browns and Pilot Flying J. Other topics will include their dedication to their communities in Cleveland and beyond and social justice work.

Dee Haslam and her husband, Jimmy, as owners of the Cleveland Browns and the Columbus Crew SC, have established three primary goals in leading the organizations: build a consistently winning team, take exceptional care of the team’s fans, and give back to their communities. Dee Haslam spent her business career in the television production business as CEO of RIVR Media, where she remains a partner.

Whitney Haslam Johnson is the chief experience officer for Pilot Flying J. She provides her communications, marketing guest and team member experience to HSG, the Cleveland Browns and Columbus Crew, in addition to her role with Pilot Flying J. In 2018, Sports Business Journal named Whitney a “Game Changer.” Johnson has been instrumental in further establishing Pilot Flying J as one of the most dynamic and recognizable brands across America.

Sonia Velu, who is pursuing her BS in chemical engineering with minors in Spanish and music, will facilitate this discussion. She co-founded CWRU’s undergraduate Entrepreneurship Club (ENTP+).
