Gala Latina is a cultural celebration focused on the empowerment of the Latinx community at Case Western Reserve University and in Northeast Ohio. There will be a surprise guest speaker and an award ceremony at the event, which will take place Friday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linsalata Alumni Center.
This year, host organization La Alianza will give out four awards to recognize students for their hard work and dedication to Latinx issues. It will also be the second year that Gala Latina will act as a fundraiser for the Diego Barrera Bayona Scholarship Award and the La Alianza Emergency Fund. By raising money for these two funds, La Alianza hopes to better serve the needs of Latinx students on campus.
