The campus community is invited to Gala Latina Friday, Oct. 13, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, ballrooms A and B.
Gala Latina focuses on the cultural celebration and empowerment of the Latinx community at CWRU as well as in the broader Northeast Ohio community. La Alianza and the Society of Hispanic Professional Degrees will host this event.
This year, three students will be awarded for their hard work and dedication to Latinx issues, and Michael Reyes, who is widely recognized for his artistic poetry and activism, will be a guest speaker.
For the first time, Gala Latina will act as a fundraiser for the Adelante Scholarship Award for Latinx students and the La Alianza Emergency Fund.
Undergraduate students receive free admission. Tickets cost $5 for graduate students and $10 for community members. Tickets will be $15 at the door.
Registration is available online.
