In this Friday’s Public Affairs Discussion Group event, Mariana Carrera, assistant professor of economics, will tackle the topic of “High Cost-Sharing for Prescription Drugs: Patient Response, Physician Response, and Public Policy.”
In recent years, insurance plans have implemented a controversial “cost-sharing” approach. Carrera will report on her research about physicians’ response to price constraints on patients and discuss what that suggests for policies about cost-sharing for drugs.
The discussion, organized by the Center for Policy Studies, begins Sept. 14 at 12:30 p.m. in Kelvin Smith Library’s Dampeer Room. Coffee, beverages and cookies are provided.
Since 1989, faculty, emeriti, students and staff have gathered on Fridays for a brown-bag lunch and to discuss topics in public affairs.
