Friday’s Public Affairs Discussion Group to tackle University Circle traffic issues

Debbie BerryThe weekly Public Affairs Discussion Group will continue this week with a talk titled, “The Opportunity Corridor and Beyond: Transportation Issues in University Circle.”

Debbie Berry, vice president of planning and real estate development for University Circle Inc., will lead the discussion, which will take place Friday, Nov. 15, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Dampeer Room at Kelvin Smith Library.

After years of discussion, funds are available to build the “Opportunity Corridor,” a new roadway that would connect the south and west sides of the city to University Circle by running from the intersection of I-490 with East 55th Street to East 105th Street. Is Opportunity Corridor a good idea? How will it affect economic and social development in CWRU’s neighborhood?

Since 1989, faculty, emeriti, students and staff have gathered on Fridays for a brown-bag lunch and to discuss topics in public affairs.
